Mia Collarini – Head Softball Instructor

  • Head Softball Coach, University of Scranton, 2012-Present
  • A stand-out athlete at the University of Scranton, Collarini was a two-time all-Landmark Conference selection (1st team in 2008, 2nd team in 2011) and a 2008 first-team South region selection in Scranton’s previous affiliation with the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC)
  • Finished her career as the Royals’ all-time leader in walks (66), third in at-bats (405) and doubles (28), fifth in hits (125) and triples (10), and sixth in sacrifices (11)
  • Team captain in 2011, batted .309 for her career, including a .401 average in 2008 as Scranton won a school-record 27 wins and advanced to the Landmark Conference tournament in the league’s inaugural season of competition.
  • Set Royal single-season records for runs scored (46), walks (23) and at-bats (137), and her 55 hits were the third most in the program’s history.  She also belted 15 doubles and five triples, which is tied for second and fourth most, respectively, in Scranton history.
  • A member of the Landmark Conference Academic Honor Roll three times (2009, 2010, 2011) and was named third-team District II all-Academic by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) in 2011.

Ken Grundt – Baseball Instructor

  • Played collegiate baseball at Missouri Southern State University.
  • Drafted in the 53rd Round of the 1991 Major League Baseball Draft by the San Francisco Giants.
  • Played seven years of professional baseball as a left-handed pitcher with San Francisco Giants, Colorado Rockies, Boston Red Sox, and Florida Marlins organizations, collecting a 31- 19 mark with a 2.58 ERA and 35 saves in 288 appearances.
  • He entered the majors with the Boston Red Sox in 1996.
  • Worked as a pitching instructor with the Frozen Ropes franchise.
